We view missions at First Castroville as an opportunity to help our community and others in need. As we go, we demonstrate the love God has for all people. The Bible tells us that Jesus often met the needs of people physically before he told them about the Kingdom of God. We seek to help others and share the love of Jesus.
We partner with the San Antonio Food Bank (SAFB) and host a food truck on the 3rd Tuesday of every month, usually at 2 pm. This is a great way to volunteer and help others in need. If you are in need of assistance, you can register for the SAFB food truck by calling them directly (210)431-8236.
First Castroville hosts an additional monthly food distribution in partnership with Daily Bread Ministries. Our missions volunteers travel to pick up supplies from their warehouse once a month. No registration is necessary. Look at the activity listing below for the correct dates. This distribution is usually at 11 am.
First Castroville works at developing positive relationships with community leaders and residents. Throughout the year we assemble work crews to help homeowners with repairs and cleanup of their property. We seek to do more than just complete a project- we desire to build a lasting relationship with those in our community.
Through First Castroville’s partnership with H.O.M.E. Malawi, lives have been changed for many Malawi people. Through the generosity of those in our church (and beyond), First Castroville has been responsible for providing resources to build 3 churches, drill 4 wells, construct a community center, and funded 4 teachers to teach children.
